The Woodlands Township to host Patriot Day, First Responders Day

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township and the Township Board of Directors will host two ceremonies in honor of the fallen and in recognition of first responders on Friday, September 11, 2020. The community is invited to attend both events.

Those planning to attend either or both of the events should practice social distancing, refrain from gathering in large groups, wear a face covering and continue following all guidelines established by the CDC when in public spaces and around others outside of their own households. Please note all information is subject to change, pending local, state and federal Orders or Declarations.

The Patriot Day of Remembrance will be from 7:30 to 8 a.m. at Central Fire Station, 9951 Grogan’s Mill Road, The Woodlands, TX 77380. The ceremony will include a Presentation of Colors by The Woodlands Fire Department Honor Guard along with a reading of The Fireman’s Prayer and The Ringing of the Bell in honor of fallen firefighters. The event will also pay tribute to those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

First Responders Day in The Woodlands will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77380. The Woodlands Township will honor and thank first responders with a community gathering featuring a Presentation of Colors by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, speakers and more.

“The Board of Directors considers it a privilege to honor and remember the thousands of lives lost during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, including the 400 first responders who gave their lives to help others,” said Chairman Bunch. “We encourage the community to join us in honoring their memory and their legacy of service to our country. We also look forward to thanking our first responders, who work so hard to keep The Woodlands safe.”
