Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for September 3, 2020

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, is saddened to confirm three additional deaths related to COVID-19.

· A man in his 50s, from Conroe, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
· A man in his 70s, from The Woodlands, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
· A woman in her 70s, from Conroe, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

We can also confirm:

· TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 142 to 9,046 since yesterday’s report.

§ We are continuing to process cases that were reported to The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) directly by healthcare providers and entered into the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS), run by the CDC. Out of the 142 new total cases since yesterday’s report, 28 (from the NEDSS system) tested positive prior to August 18th.

· ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 43 to 1,260 since yesterday’s report.

· 20 residents are known to be in the hospital, as a result of contact investigations. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

· 6,257 people have clinically recovered.
