Signatures Author Series Accepting Visiting Author Applications

THE WOODLANDS, TX - The John Cooper School will host the 16th Annual Signatures Author Series featuring Jesmyn Ward, on Friday, December 4 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. Ward is a two-time National Book Award winner and bestselling author whose diverse array of books cover insightful topics and feature richly drawn characters.
The Signatures Executive Committee, co-chaired by Lisa Hollingsworth and Malin Melin, is accepting applications from authors who wish to sell their books and engage with attendees at the luncheon. Due to space constraints, only a limited number of booths are available for Visiting Authors. All attendees will be required to wear masks and follow social distancing procedures.
“Each year, we strive to put together a well-rounded group of visiting authors who represent a variety of genres,” said Mari Dewberry, who co-chairs the Visiting Authors portion with Mary Paur. “Authors who participate are highlighted in event publicity and have a table with signage where they can sell their books and visit with guests before and after the luncheon. This is a highly anticipated portion of our event and we look forward to shedding light on local authors.”
The booth registration fee is $150, and the deadline to apply to participate is on or before October 9 to be included in pre-event publicity; the final deadline is October 23. Specific guidelines, details and application forms are available at www.johncooper.org/signatures. Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the Signatures luncheon is given to a local literacy organization.
