MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can sadly confirm two additional deaths related to COVID-19.

· A woman in her 80s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
· A woman in her 80s, from Spring, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during our transition to the Texas Health Trace database. The following update includes cases we have added since 11/5/2020.

- TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 513 to 14,793 since last Thursday’s (11/5) report. All 513 new cases were tested in the month of November.

- ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 271 to 2,279 since last Thursday’s (11/5) report. An additional 225 cases have been marked as “inactive” since we have been unable to contact them for more than 30 days.

- 31 residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

- 9,271 people have clinically recovered. Some of the recovery data is unavailable at this time due to the database transition.

*Please note, the graph does not exactly correspond to the daily update because the cases are plotted on the date of accrual – not the date they are reported to the public. These numbers include PCR and rapid antigen testing. We do not include antibody testing. Have more questions? Please go to https://mcphd-tx.org/ and scroll down to the FAQs.

Take steps to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

· If your children have started in-person school, teach them proper hygiene and the correct way to wear a mask. Encourage them to never share masks with others.
· Avoid groups of people.
· Practice social distancing.
· Wear a mask in public or with others outside your household.
· Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.
· Disinfect surfaces in your car and around your home.

We are unable to update the case-by-case list due to the ongoing transition to the state database. You can view the case-by-case updates from last week on the MCPHD website here:
