Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for February 22, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can confirm mass vaccine distribution will continue Tuesday. According to Lone Star Family Health Clinic, this week, second doses will be given only to people who received the vaccine January 19-27. First doses will not be given through Lone Star this week.

Please note, the Montgomery County COVID-19 waitlist is under maintenance while MCOHEM switches it to a new system. It is expected to be back up and running by the end of the week.

Individual hospitals, physicians’ offices and pharmacies may also have vaccines available to eligible populations. Please check their websites for additional information. Today, we can confirm two additional deaths related to COVID-19.

• A woman in her 70s, from New Caney, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
• A woman in her 80s, from Conroe, died in hospice care. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

We can also confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 286 to 44,346 since Friday’s (2/19) report. Of the 286 new cases, 217 were tested since 2/11/2021.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 10 to 3,743 since Friday’s (2/19) report.
• 95 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 21,511 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County remains at 15% for two weeks. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays.
