MCTXSheriff Arrest Four in Catalytic Converter Theft in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX - On February 25, 2021 at about 10:00 AM, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to The Woodland Lodge Apartments located at 2500 South Millbend Drive The Woodlands, Texas in reference to a suspicious person call. The caller stated he observed two black males climb out from under a truck with a “catalytic converter”, with a third black male holding a saw. The caller was able to give dispatch an accurate description of the suspects’ vehicle, which enabled responding Deputies to quickly locate the vehicle. During the investigation, the Deputies detained two adults and two juveniles and located a total of four converters in the suspects’ vehicle. The two adults were identified as Vintaye Woods (17) and Tyrone Jones (17) out of Harris County, Texas. Vintaye is currently out on bond from Harris County. All four were arrested and charged with theft, with additional charges possibly coming in the future. Each adult was issued a $25,000 bond.
