Montgomery County Operation Recovers $150K in Stolen Vehicles, Three Charged in Underground Performance LLC Investigation

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Following a multi-month investigation into Underground Performance LLC, the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force, in a joint operation with several partner agencies, executed two search warrants on properties within Montgomery County.

The operation, a culmination of a long-term investigation, was led by the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. Partner agencies involved included the U.S. Marshals, Office of Inspector General, DPS/CID, the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

As a result of the warrants, law enforcement recovered approximately $150,000 in stolen vehicles and $15,000 in stolen vehicle parts, along with two firearms.

Three individuals were charged in connection with the investigation:

  • Devin Lane Mott, age 21, arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Crime and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
  • Chadrick Craft, age 24, arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Crime.
  • Jason Mott, age 46, served with a warrant for Engaging in Organized Crime while in the custody of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

“The success of this operation is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of all the agencies involved,” said Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle. “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to every agency that assisted the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force in this investigation.”

The Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force is funded and trained by the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority.
