THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch is hosting a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day drive-thru event on Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Woodlands Township (front parking lot), 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., 77381.

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) representatives, supported by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, will be onsite to collect expired and unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications for safe disposal preventing accidental ingestion, overdose, theft, and misuse.

Upon arrival, please remain in your vehicle, follow directional signs and personnel instructions and drop medications from your window into the drop box. Per DEA protocols, participants may dispose of medication in its original container or by removing the medication and disposing of it directly into the drop box. If an original container is submitted, individuals are encouraged to remove any identifying information from the prescription label.

Medications will only be accepted during the event time; items may not be dropped off before or after the event. Sharps (needles) are not collected at this event. To safely dispose of sharps, please visit the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) website for instructions. For additional information on year-round drug disposal locations, please visit takebackday.dea.gov.
