Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for April 21, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can confirm mass vaccinations continue in our county.

Moderna vaccine appointments are available now through MCPHD for Monday, April 26th at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Shenandoah. All adult residents 18+ are eligible. Please register here: mcphd-tx.org. You will receive an email to schedule a second dose 3-4 weeks after your first dose.

Lone Star Family Health Center, individual hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies have vaccines available to eligible populations. Please check their websites and Facebook pages for additional information. You can find a list of providers and additional information on the DSHS website here: https://www.dshs.state.tx.us/coronavirus/immunize/vaccine-hubs.aspx.

If you have questions regarding COVID-19, testing or vaccines, please call the Montgomery County COVID-19 Call Center at 936-523-3916. It is available Monday - Thursday from 8:00am - 4:30pm or Friday from 8:00 - 4:00pm.

Today, we can confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 133 to 51,558 since Tuesday’s (4/20) report. All 133 cases were tested since 4/8/2021.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 68 to 1,742 since Tuesday’s (4/20) report.
• 109 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 27,033 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County remains at 8% for the 2nd week in a row. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays. Source: UT Health, School of Public Health
