THE WOODLANDS, TX -- JJ Hollie, the president and CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, is keenly aware of the wondrous diversity of local residents and businesses. As the head of the largest business organization in the Greater Houston area, he is also savvy in the methods of political and governmental “sausage-making.”

JJ Hollie posts an encouraging open letter to social media

Today, the day after a battle-line-drawing election cycle, he reached out to The Woodlands community with a message of hope and civility.

“Now that the current election season is over and we are fully involved with the holidays, my hope is that we return to The Woodlands where community matters,” he said. “Incorporation was a contentious issue; however, large community decisions like this do not have to be.”

Hollie understands that oftentimes in today’s climate, many a time people have issues with separating a person’s stance on an issue from the person or the issue in question. “As we move forward, I encourage everyone to remember we live in the same community and, for the most part, want the same things. Let’s take the time, communicate, and work together to resolve any major differences that might be roadblocks before we have to go to the ballot box.”

Not only does Hollie command a large staff and business networking organization, but he is also a stalwart community figure, frequently being spotted at community events, social gatherings, and forums that showcase his beloved Township.

“It’s The Woodlands. We are a national example of how to do ‘community’ the right way.”

Be sure to tune in to JJ Hollie’s weekly livestream broadcast of “Between the Trees,” a video series he hosts where he chats with other community leaders and figures, every Wednesday lunchtime on Facebook Live.
