Fatal Vehicle Fire in Panther Creek Being Investigated by The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At 11:23 Monday morning The Woodlands Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire in a wooded area behind the Panther Creek Shopping Center. Engine 102 was first on scene and reported a vehicle fully involved with fire extending to the brush around it and threatening a nearby cell tower. Firefighters were quickly able to bring the blaze under control but upon extinguishment they discovered a deceased person in the vehicle. Firefighters secured the area and Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office and Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene. Both the cause of the fire and the cause of death remain under investigation.
