MAGNOLIA, TX -- Kelly McDonald Republican candidate for State Representative in District 3, pledged to hold regular office hours and quarterly town hall meetings with her constituents when elected. She will not wait until the election is months away to hold a town hall meeting.

“As our next State Representative, I am committed to putting the community I represent first. My priority will be the people of this district not the insiders or the special interest groups. I will hold regular office hours in each community so citizens will have access to their voice being heard in Austin. I will also hold quarterly town hall meetings on the issues confronting our state to get as much input as possible,” said McDonald.

McDonald is promising to hold regular office hours so people can meet directly with their elected State Representative. She plans on traveling the district going from town to town to hold office hours for their convenience. She will also hold office hours not only during the day for seniors, but also in the evenings so people who work during the day will also have one on one time to speak with their State Representative.

McDonald will represent the community by having scheduled quarterly town hall meetings throughout her term in office. She believes communication should be ongoing.

“I strongly believe that people should physically see their elected representative on the issues that matter to them in collaboration with continued communication through the staff person,” added McDonald.

McDonald has an impressive background of community service. She has served 6 years as a twice elected Magnolia School Board Trustee, serves as Commissioner for the Montgomery County Housing Authority representing Precinct 2, working with other commissioners to oversee federal aid to provide safe housing for the elderly, our veterans and people with disabilities, serves as a Director on the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park Commission, and is the Chair of the Government Affairs Council for the Greater Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce.

“As a committed member of the community I want to make sure we have someone who is going to be responsive to get things done. I have seen the issues confronting our community and we need a Representative in Austin who be proactive and responsive”, said McDonald. “I have the energy and determination to fight the culture that threatens our society. You will never see me on the sidelines but up front and visible. I will lead and make a positive difference.”
