TOMBALL, TX -- Lone Star College - Tomball Community Library has released their schedule of events for February 2021.

Children’s programs


Toddler Time
Wednesdays, February 2, 9, 16, 23 @ 9:30 am
Join other toddlers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Toddler Time uses age-appropriate stories, songs and finger plays to engage toddlers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards toddlers ages 18 months through 3 years. Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Participating children must have a ticket to attend Toddler Time. For more information, call the library at 832-559-4235.

Preschool Story Time

Join other preschoolers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Friendship Club
Thursdays, February 3 & 17 @ 5:00 pm
Friendship Club is a place for kids to work on social skills in a fun, group setting! Designed for kids aged 8-12, our small group will focus on interpersonal skills, such as communication, listening, working with others, problem-solving, and manners. Required registration begins online one week in advance and is for kids ages 8-12. Call the library at 832-559-4235 for more information.

Baby Bookworms
Mondays, February 7, 14, 21, 28 @ 9:30 am
Join other babies and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Baby Bookworms uses age-appropriate stories, songs and finger plays, and playtime to engage babies and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards newborns through 18 months. Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Early Literacy Fun
Thursdays, February 10 & 24 @ 1:30 pm
Join us for Early Literacy Fun! This workshop will introduce your child to the foundational skills and practices for early literacy learning. Each week will focus on one skill and practice with hands on activities that you and your child can work on together. This program is limited to 15 kids ages 3-5 and their parent/caregiver. Reading Education Assistance Dogs
Tuesday, February 22 @ 5:00 pm
The Reading Education Assistance Dogs will be here! Pick a book and share it one on one with a furry friend from Pets with a Mission! Required registration begins online one week in advance and is limited to 12 kids, ages 4-12 and their parent/caregiver. Call 832-559-4235 for more information.

Saturday Free Space
Every Saturday @ 1pm – 4:30 pm
Join us every Saturday to....to what? To do whatever you want! We’ll have games, activities, and craft supplies, so stop by and hang with us for a while.

Teen Anime Club

Love Anime, Manga, and all things Japanese? Come join our Young Adult Anime Club in the Tomball Library Teen Room on the first Tuesday of every month.
We explore a new topic every month including Japanese culture, how to cosplay, how to draw anime and anime related crafts.

Computer Basics

This class is here to help you get familiar with using a computer! We’ll start from the beginning by discussing the different parts of the computer, using the keyboard and mouse, and more.

Laser Cutter Orientation
3rd Thursday, February 17 @ 4pm
Join us at the Tomball Innovation Lab for our laser cutter orientation. We’ll show you the basics of laser cutting, as well as how to use our machine in your own projects.

Cricut & Heat press Orientation
1st Saturday, February 5 @ 2pm
Join us at the Tomball Innovation Lab for our Cricut and heatpress orientation. We’ll show you how to use the Cricut Design Space to create your own projects, as well as how to use our machine here at the branch.

VR Demos
4th Monday, Feburary 28 @ 4:30pm
Come check out our Virtual Reality headsets in this demo day! We’ll have headsets out loaded with a variety of interactions so that you can get a taste of the future of VR. These headsets will be available for in house use with Open Lab hours.

Resin Printer Orientation
4th Thursday, February 24 @ 4pm
Join us at the Tomball Innovation Lab for our resin printer orientation. We’ll show you how to use our Phrozen resin printer here at the library. From the preparation of the file to the printing process.
