CONROE, TX – The Conroe Lady Tigers hosted the Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles on Wednesday as part of opening day of the district season. Pushed back because of weather, this game day was near perfect for a ball game. With open skies and a slight breeze, the teams hit the field for the opening pitch and the start of the district season.

Right off the bat, quite literally, Oak Ridge hit a tank out of the park, giving them an instant 1-0 lead. The single home run gave the Lady War Eagles momentum, which they used to get a base hit and another run. By the bottom of the 1st, Oak Ridge was up 2-0 to the Conroe Lady Tigers.

Just like the Lady War Eagles, the Lady Tigers also got a run batted up with a sacrifice pop fly to the outfield. Bringing the game to 2-1. And with some pitching battles against the batters, no more runs were batted in and many players were left on base as the innings ended.

In the 4th is when things started heating up. Oak Ridge hit a double into the outfield bringing another run in, making the score 3-1. As Conroe struggled to make a connection, in the final inning Oak Ridge once again turned it up to eleven and brought in another 2 runs and securing their district opener at Conroe High School.

With 5 runs batted in off of 9 hits Oak Ridge lead for the entirety of the game. While Conroe was able to bring in 1 run off of 4 hits.
