THE WOODLANDS, TX -- YES to YOUTH, a local nonprofit organization that provides key services to at-risk youth in Montgomery County and its surrounding areas, recently held its second annual event designed to stimulate the taste buds while simultaneously loosening the purse strings; a special wine tasting event hosted by Cellar 24 in The Woodlands.

Cellar 24 played host to dozens of wine lovers for a worthy cause

Sherri Carfagno, chief financial officer, was happy with the turnout. “Tonight’s event benefits the children of YES to YOUTH. We’re sampling wines from all over the country; there are some amazing selections here,” she said. “Cellar 24 does this for us; they are amazing here. The proceeds of the wines sold – as well as the tasting fees – are going to our programs and services.”

When asked about the origin of the wine tasting event, she said, “One of our gala chairs is really good friends with Shelli Moran, one of the owners of Cellar 24, and one night over wine they thought, ‘What a great idea to mix wine with charity,’ and the wine tasting event was born as a result.’”

YES to YOUTH - Montgomery County Youth Services strengthens the emotional and mental health development of youth and families by providing crisis intervention, counseling, and suicide prevention services. They provide a safe and nurturing home where abused, battered, sex-trafficked, homeless, and at-risk youth begin healing from the past and become empowered for the future.
