Crime Tip Leads to Drug Bust and Recovery of Stolen Social Security Cards, Passports, checks and Vehicle Titles

SPRING, TX -- On May 18, 2022, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Special Operations and Canine Unit responded to a crime tip alert in the 5800 block of Stratton Woods Drive. It was reported a known female, Julicet Diaz-Gonzalez was at the location and had an open Felony Warrant for a Parole Violation. Deputies were met by two males at the front door of the residence who claimed she was not at the location.

While searching the residence, she was found hiding a bathroom. Deputies also observed in plain view multiple items indicating illegal narcotic sales and evidence of other illegal activity taking place.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on the residence. The search resulted in a total of 13.34 grams of Methamphetamine, 21.99 grams of Cocaine, .66 grams of Heroin, a 30 caliber semi-auto rifle with suppressor, a 9mm semi-auto handgun, multiple weapon magazines and ammunition, 2 ballistic vests and large amounts of state identification cards, social security cards, passports, fraudulent and stolen checks and vehicle titles.

Upon further investigation it was determined Elkin Mesa one of the male occupants in the house was a convicted felon and was in possession of large amounts of illegal narcotics, weapons and body armor. The second male, Skyler Rice was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine.

'They were all arrested and booked into the Harris County jail. Elkin Mesa was charged with two counts of Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Felon in possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. Skyler Rice was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Julicet Diaz-Gonzalez was booked in for her Parole Violation Warrant. Financial crime charges may be filed at a later time pending further investigation.' - Constable Mark Herman
