THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce's Business Advocacy Council has partnered with Woodlands Online to present a non-partisan, all-candidate, live and livestreamed Candidate & Debate Forum on Wednesday, October 12, from 4-7 p.m. Woodlands Online’s news editor Sean K. Thompson will moderate the debates and forums for five different races.

More than two dozen candidates from five different races scheduled to appear

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at Sam Houston State University - The Woodlands Center, 3380 College Park Dr., and will be simultaneously livestreamed on Woodlands Online’s website at www.woodlandsonline.com and on its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/woodlandsonline.

Candidates currently vying for seats in the races for Tomball ISD Board of Trustees, Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District Board of Directors, Montgomery County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace, Conroe ISD Board of Directors, and The Woodlands Township Board of Directors will be posed questions on topics integral to their sought positions in a debate format, and then will each be given an opportunity to lay out their platforms and positions to attendees and viewers alike.

JJ Hollie, president and CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, has strong expectations of the candidates and high hopes for the audiences. “Advocacy is one of the most important focus areas of the Chamber,” he said. “We focus on all the important issues so you can focus on your business. This forum helps our members understand who the candidates are and helps them understand who to vote for.”

To Eric Kintigh, founder and CEO of Woodlands Online, the drive to present a non-partisan, all-encompassing political forum – which he feels is lacking in The Woodlands area and Montgomery County as a whole – is a benchmark for the organization. “As the premier news and community online resource for The Woodlands and surrounding areas – currently celebrating more than 25 years in business – Woodlands Online is proud to partner with the Chamber for this all-important political event,” he said.

The Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce has also partnered with the Business Advocacy Council for the Conroe ISD race section. Sponsors for the event include Sam Houston State University and Lone Star College System - Montgomery.

Be sure to tune into Woodlands Online’s website or Facebook page to virtually catch the event if you cannot attend in person.
