THE WOODLANDS, TX – Our near-total cloud cover that we’ve experienced all Monday morning is slowly diminishing even as the high temp of 93 pivots and starts a downward slide. However, right around midnight, we’ll have a massive spike in cloud and rain and even wind. The wild storm will be gone, however, by the time dawn breaks Tuesday morning.

Rains bookend a sunny week

The cold front that came on the heels of the storm will make for a couple of days of absolutely gorgeous weather. A complete absence of clouds under sunny skies will give us something to smile about. Even the brisk winds will finally meander away after lunchtime. Be sure to wear layers, as temps will plummet from their high of 73 around quitting time and hit a low in the mid 40s overnight.

Wednesday will be a basic clone of the day before; sunny, cloudless skies with a high in the mid to upper 70s will make every indoor worker wish they’d made different career choices. Even the winds will die down, giving the chilly 40-something overnight a stillness that some people might sing carols over.

On Thursday, it’ll take a while, but temperatures will eventually hit a high close to 80 later in the afternoon as the rains and clouds stay away. Don’t let the coolness fool you; you’d be well advised to slather on the sunscreen if you plan to be outdoors for any stretches of time. The nighttime low will be warmer – in the mid 50s – but that’s due to what’s coming Friday morning.

The clouds and rains will return with a passion overnight, and you’ll wake up to slick streets and stormy skies. The high will struggle to get out of the mid 70s. If you’re lucky, you just might see the sun late in the afternoon just before it sets as the rains start to dwindle a bit. But expect your TGIF to be T-G-Indoors. You’ll go to bed with some damp chill in the air, but things might – just might – start to clear up for the weekend…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
