TOMBALL, TX -- Lone Star College - Tomball Community Library has released their schedule of events for December 2022

Children’s Programs:

Preschool Story Time
Thursdays, December 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 @ 10:30 am
Join other preschoolers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Preschool Story Time uses age-appropriate stories, songs and finger plays, and a take-home craft to engage preschoolers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards kids ages 3-5 years. Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Participating children must have a ticket to attend Preschool Story Time. For more information, call the library at 832-559-4235.

Hands-On History: The Road to the White House
Thursday, December 1 @ 5:00 pm
Learn about the road to the White House - the history of the presidential campaign, from George Washington's election in 1789 until now, and the history of the house our president calls home. Pokémon League
Saturdays, December 3 & 17 @ 1:30 pm
Love playing the Pokémon card game and discussing all things Pokémon with fellow fans? Join the Pokémon League every first and third Saturday, sponsored by the Magnolia City Pokémon Gym. Baby Bookworms

Give the gift of generosity this year by providing donated toys to families in need in your community! Crochet for the Craft-Challenged: Basic Snowflakes
Friday December 2nd @3:00pm
Join us in the Meeting Room downstairs for a crochet class where we will learn together! We will go over creating a slip knot, chain, slip stitch, and double crochet and then watch a YouTube video to learn how to make an easy snowflake ornament together! This class is by and for beginners but a basic knowledge of crochet stitches will be helpful. Registration is required due to limited supplies. Winter Plant Swap
Friday December 16th @ 2 pm
Meet in the Community Engagement Area downstairs in the library to swap small plants or cuttings for propagation and exchange knowledge on plant care! Attendees can bring plants and cuttings to swap or there will also be a free table to leave plants, seeds, or cuttings for people just getting started. Choosing Forgiveness Book Discussion with Paul Marshall

Do you love receiving mail? Help others feel special by writing a letter to a soldier deployed across the globe! Stationary will be provided in the Community Engagement Area from Dec 1st-30th. We will be collecting donations all month long to be sent to Boots for Troops, a local non-profit that mails care packages to troops deployed across the globe. Items needed for donation include dry snacks, toiletries, books, candy, ground coffee, letters of encouragement, etc. Donations can be dropped off at the library’s 1st floor elevators in the donation box.
