THE WOODLANDS, TX – At the Woodlands Online Weather Center, we tend to be ‘glass half full’ in our philosophy. Which is why, despite the doom and gloom projected in this weekend’s forecast, we’re finding a silver lining in the storm clouds that are gathering.

Total cloud cover, a day of rain, and chilly temps make for a weekend of indoor fun

With a few hours of this report, the clouds will blanket practically the entire sky. The temps will struggle to get out of the 40s and finally settle in the mid 50s for a high. But by dinnertime, we’ll be headed back into the 40s as the chances of rain pick up significantly. Did you know that The Ice Rink opens to the public tonight and you can enjoy all the fun of skating while being protected from the outside elements?

Saturday will dawn (we presume, as the sun will be obscured by clouds galore) to rainy skies and frigid, brisk winds out of the northeast. There’s a 90 percent chance that your lawns are going to get drenched by the rains no matter where you are in The Woodlands. All these conditions will contribute to the high temp remaining firmly in the 40s all day and night. It’s a good thing that the 2022 Junior League Holiday Market has all your holiday shopping needs available at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott in indoor comfort.

We’ll get a respite on Sunday as the rains dwindle (but probably won’t disappear altogether) and the winds die down. The clouds, however, will remain at near-total coverage. We might make it all the way up into the low 50s for a high, so wear layers if you venture outdoors. But we suggest something a little warmer and drier: Blissful Waters Float Center is offering Lucia Light therapy, a deep nervous system relaxation session where you can experience a state of deep relaxation coupled with focus.

As you slumber from Sunday night into morning, you might not be surprised if you awaken to the sound of rain pounding on your roof again…

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
