THE WOODLANDS, TX – Breakfast was served and funds were raised for Children’s Safe Harbor at Truluck’s in Hughes Landing this week, courtesy of Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable.

The annual event, now in its eighth year, brought in dozens of eager diners and donors, and the sheer amount of law enforcement presence made it the safest breakfast place in The Woodlands. Luminaries such as Conroe Mayor Pro Tem Curt Maddux, Councilman Howard Wood, Woodlands Township Board Member Dr. Ann Snyder, Judge Vincent Santini of the 457th District Court, and many more lent their support to both Constable Gable and the Harbor’s Executive Director and CEO, Dr. Victoria Constance.

In exclusive interviews with Woodlands Online, Constable Gable, Dr. Constance, and Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough discussed their dedication to Children’s Safe Harbor and the safety of our area youth.

“Any major type of major child crime, from sexual assault to child abuse is going to go through Children’s Safe Harbor. We ask that you get involved and support such a great organization and that’s what we’re here to do today,” said Constable Gable. “I’m an advocate for the safety of children and keeping the offenders held accountable, and I think an organization like this provides the victims with an opportunity to have that justice and assistance they need to get back on their feet and build a better life.”

“We’re all absolutely blessed to have this moment, because there are no other fundraisers where 100 percent of the donation comes back,” said Dr. Constance. “Truluck’s brings in their own staff, they do all the food at no cost, so all of what you pay for your $30 ticket goes to Children’s Safe Harbor. And that was Constable Gable’s dream. At this time of year, we all know families are struggling deeply due to inflation and the scarcity of food and the worries that accompany it, and these kinds of fundraisers allow us to do a large give-back to our families.”

According to Judge Keough, even in Montgomery County there are issues with crimes against children. “To the extent of how much it is up here, we don’t know, but we have to create a culture of deterrence and this is part of it right here. We can’t go the way of our neighbors to the south,” he said. “So we need to let the bad guys know there is going to be discipline for what they do, that it’s going to come quickly, and that it’s going to be commensurate with their actions. I’m determined to make sure we keep this a safe community, which is why we’re continuing our efforts to properly fund our law enforcement, our judiciary, and more, because that’s where the good work happens.”
