THE WOODLANDS, TX – At the risk of jinxing it, it seems like last week was the last time we’ll experience a high temperature in the 80s for this year. In fact, with the exception of snow or frozen pipes, this week will feature some definitive holiday winter weather.

Some rain and cooler weather will make it feel just a bit closer to the holidays

Our near-total cloud cover is going to hang around at least for a couple of days. Minimal rain chances will combine with the clouds to keep our high temperature just above 70 degrees today. The pressure is continuing to drop, which will bring increasing chances of rain overnight as the low dips into the mid 60s.

Tuesday will see an increase in temperatures that will get us perilously close to the 80s with a high of 78. Tagging along will be some significant thunderstorms driven by heavy winds that will steadily increase until early evening and then slowly dwindle as Tuesday morphs into Wednesday. The precipitation will go far in dropping the temps down into the 50s.

The first half of Wednesday will see a whole bunch of cloudy skies, but come lunchtime the sun will finally break through as the pressure system hits rock bottom and slowly climbs back up. It'll be bright but cool with a high of only 57, and the lows will actually get into the 40s under starry night skies.

Thursday will be a clear, sunny day, with cool temps of 50s for the highs and 40s for the lows. Gorgeous weather to get out and about for certain. Enjoy it while it lasts, because come Friday afternoon the clouds will make an encore performance and there just might be some storm clouds forming on the horizon…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
