Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Peach Creek Shooting

NEW CANEY, TX -- On December 14, 2022, at about 2:00 PM, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 25500 block of Ipes Road in New Caney after receiving information on the whereabouts of Mason Lee Young, who was wanted in the December 5th shooting on Peach Creek Drive. Upon locating Young, he was placed into custody without incident for an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Mason is currently in the Montgomery County Jail on a $150,000 bond.






On December 5, 2022, at around 7:00 am MCTXSheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an Assault with a Firearm call in the 26000 block of Peach Creek Drive in New Caney. Upon arrival deputies learned that a 31 year old white male had been shot. The male was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is in stable condition.

Investigators responded and are currently investigating this incident. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and the suspect’s identity is still under investigation at this time.

The incident stemmed from an argument amongst several individuals and a firearm was produced, leading to the shooting. It is believed this is an isolated incident.
