THE WOODLANDS, TX – This week, the days will be a little warmer and brighter than normal, but fortunately the nights will still be cool, allowing us to cling onto our winter fantasies for just a little bit longer.

The only surprising thing about this week’s weather is how unsurprising it is

We’re enjoying mostly sunny skies today; in fact, the only clouds we’ll get is a brief spike in the middle of the afternoon. Some moderate winds out of the southeast will help to keep things cool, with a high in the upper 60s. Clouds and winds will die out in the evening, and we’ll enjoy an overnight low of 52.

As Monday morphs into Tuesday, however, some significant cloud coverage will move in, upping the temps into the mid 70s later in the afternoon. A slight chance of rain will dog our plans all day, but chances are if we get any drops they’ll only be enough to smear your windshield.

Tuesday evening the clouds will go away for a while but will return later that night and early Wednesday morning, mounting and mounting until there is nearly total cloud coverage. High humidity, a dropping pressure, and rising dew point will all work together to actually get us to a high of 80, not exactly North Pole weather. Some heavier winds will kick in and encourage the clouds to go away, so the sun will peek out in the later afternoon, and we’ll settle into a low in the mid 50s..

Overnight into Thursday, the clouds will return and bring some rain with them, but this should pass for the most part by the time it’s ready to hit the morning commute, helped along with heavier winds out of the northwest. The high temperature will struggle to get into the 60s, and it’ll definitely be nippy that night with a low in the 40s.

On Friday, it goes back to Auld Lang Syne style weather, with sunny skies and cooler temps; soft winds will make the high of 64 feel even cooler, and once we get past that high in the mid-afternoon, prepare for a low in the mid 30s – nowhere near ready for freeze our pipes but chilly nonetheless.

With what’s on our long-term forecast, this might be the last time we see temps that low for a while…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
