THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Spring Creek Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) recently held their January meeting at The Woodlands Bible Church. Members worked on current and future community projects and Celebrated the 125th Anniversary of Stars & Stripes Forever with a special program.

Daughters of the American Revolution – founded in 1890 – is a lineage-based, non-profit, non-political, volunteer service organization for women that supports patriotism, historic preservation, and education. The Spring Creek Chapter is located in The Woodlands, and was chartered on December 7, 1983 under organizing regent Diana Pierce. Its members participate in activities that promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support educational opportunities for young people. DAR members all over the world perform millions of hours of volunteer service each year honoring veterans, supporting schools, awarding scholarships, preserving historical documents and landmarks, fostering good citizenship, and much more.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution’s objectives are to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence; to carry out the injunction of Washington in his farewell address to the American people, “to promote, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge, thus developing an enlightened public opinion…;” and to cherish, maintain, and extend the institutions of American freedom, to foster true patriotism and love of country, and to aid in securing for mankind all the blessings of liberty.
