THE WOODLANDS, TX – In a desperate attempt to keep the holiday spirit going, the Woodlands Online Weather team would like to point out that there will be a lot of snow this weekend; that is, if the snow were warmed to above-freezing temperatures and changed into its liquid form of water.

A goodly portion of the weekend will be wet

Friday will be the literal calm before the storms, with steadily increasing cloud coverage throughout the later morning and afternoon. By 10 o’clock tonight, we’ll be 100 percent occluded by clouds. And right around that same time, the chances of rain start to increase. We’ll rapidly plunge from our afternoon high of 62 down to 50, making for some blankets-and-cocoa weather. Or, if you want to defy the rains and get out of the house, head over to the Branch Crossing YMCA for its Free Camp Fest that includes a movie, treats, crafts, and info on summer camps.

For Saturday, the morning rains will peak and then settle down for a bit for some slow-but-steady precipitation. The continuing clouds, wetness, and dropping pressure front will quickly get us to our high temperatures in the upper 60s. A surge in winds up to 15 mph won’t help road safety much, so exercise caution when you head out. Maybe consider hitting one location that’ll entertain you for hours, like The Woodlands Mall, which is playing host to The Woodlands Arts Council’s Student Art Scholarship Gallery Presentation.

Overnight Saturday into Sunday, the showers will morph into full-blown thunderstorms, with at some point a hundred-percent chance of both total cloud coverage and rains. The pressure front will hit rock bottom, keeping the highs in the upper 60s again. For some safe, dry, indoor fun that’ll still allow you to release some weather-related aggression, why not head over to The Adventure Begins, who is hosting a whole slew of battle games for its Skirmish Sunday?

Sunday evening, however, will be a turnaround for the front, which will keep the wetness coming but cooling temperatures to boot for several days…
