WOODLANDS WEATHER THIS WEEK – January 30 - February 3, 2023 – Quite the range

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Monday’s rains finally dissipated , leaving behind chilly temperatures, wet streets, and cloudy skies. The total cloud cover on Tuesday will mix with a steady pressure to keep the high and low temps close together – we’ll maintain our high of 42 for most of the day, and the low tonight will only drop about six degrees below that. The winds out of the north will peak later this afternoon but maintain steady and brisk, making for one night where you wish you had a fireplace.

Wednesday will continue to be held hostage by a sky full of clouds, but this time the rains will make a return visit that will peak around lunchtime but won’t fully go away until well into Thursday. The high temperature will barely break 40 degrees, and we’ll experience another overnight low in the upper 30s, not quite freezing but still enough to cause shivers to the uncovered.

On Thursday, it will start off with deja vu all over again, with morning showers that will finally wander away later in the afternoon. The sun will remain hidden behind the grey sky that will be blanked by clouds the entire day. A slight rise in the pressure will help raise the temps into the upper 40s for the high, but afternoon winds will kick in to bring the lows down into the same temperature range as the evenings leading up to it.

Overnight Thursday into Friday, the pressure will rise at a brisk pace, and as the clouds wander away throughout the morning, there will be a spike in the high temperature a full ten degrees over the previous day’s high. We’ll enjoy Friday afternoon under partly cloudy skies and temps in the 50s, but once again the mercury will plunge back down into the mid to upper 30s for the low, with wind gusts keeping up to make things cooler than they otherwise would be.

Fortunately, it looks like the bright yellow orb we got used to being in the sky before the past couple of weeks will be out and about all weekend long…
