THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Montgomery County Literacy Coalition will host a community event for parents of dyslexic and special education students to actively engage with a panel of state leaders from the Texas Education Agency, State Board of Education, Texas House of Representatives, and the Texas Public Policy Foundation, as well as renowned literacy experts from the Neuhaus Foundation and Decoding Dyslexia. The event will be moderated by nationally-recognized expert Stephen Yearout.

State and local leaders will be in attendance at this public forum

This is a unique opportunity for parents in Montgomery County to engage directly with their elected officials and dyslexia advocates about their personal experiences with dyslexia.

The primary goal for the town hall, according to the Montgomery County Literacy Coalition, is to give parents a voice and the opportunity to share their personal stories and ways the system could be improved; this, in addition to helping parents understand what resources are available for them.

The Navigating Dyslexia community town hall will take place tonight, Thursday, February 9 at the Lone Star College - Montgomery’s Maverick Center at 3200 College Park Dr. in Conroe. The event kicks-off with a reception at 6:30 p.m. sponsored by Norton Rose Fulbright, and will go from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with a question-and-answer session.

Space is limited so interested parties are encouraged to immediately register for the event here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/navigating-dyslexia-community-townhall-tickets-528587699037
