THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Oak Ridge and The Woodlands played a rescheduled match, due to field conditions, on a cold Monday evening. The Highlanders took the first match up at home but this time the War Eagles have home field advantage and look to take the win.

The Woodlands bats were swinging as they jumped off to a quick lead after Tyler Howard was able to bring in a run in the first inning. Oak Ridge quickly retired the side but couldn’t capitalize in the first or second innings due to the arm from Nolan Roycraft. This would be the theme of the game for Oak Ridge as Roycraft would strikeout 12 before the game was over.

The Highlanders would hold off the War Eagles giving up one run in the third inning and closing out the rest without anyone crossing the plate. They would also rally in the final inning including a homerun from Jake Escovedo that would bring in three.

Oak Ridge would fall to The Woodlands at home 9-1 but look to come back strong later this week against New Caney. With this rescheduled match The Woodlands has three games this week while Oak Ridge has two so rest and recovery is crucial for the players.

“I think we did a better job today adjusting to what the pitcher was throwing,” said head coach Eastman about tonight’s game.

Oak Ridge is set to face New Caney on Friday and Saturday later this week while The Woodlands has a packed schedule on Tuesday facing New Caney at home, then taking on Conroe Friday and Saturday.
