The Woodlands Crhistian Academy Aathletics Celebrate 13 Athletes On National Sigining Day

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On Wednesday, April 12th, The Woodlands Christian Academy had 13 student athletes that officially took the next step in their athletic careers.

Family, friends and the entire Warrior Nation gathered in the SLC gymnasium to recognize the hard work, persistence and great achievements of these athletes. With only 3% of high school athletes making it to the collegiate level, it was a fitting environment to truly celebrate these young men and women.

The following athletes signed their letters of intent:

Augie Andersen - Baseball - Grayson College
Augie is a 4 year letterman for the Warrior baseball team and he is signing today to play baseball for Grayson College. Coach Cleveland said, “Augie is a talented, hard working baseball player. He will be a great representative of TWCA and make us proud.”

AJ Belser - Football - Olivet Nazarene University
AJ is a 1 year letterman for the Warrior football team. He is signing today to play football for Olivet Nazarene University. Coach Hull said, “AJ’s big smile and strength along the front are nothing to be shy about. When he stepped on the field the smile became determination. In AJ’s lone season at TWCA he became a force to be reconned with every game.”

Bryson Ivory - Football - Lyon College
Bryson is a 2 year letterman for the Warrior football team. He is signing today to play football at Lyon College. Coach Hull said, “Bryson’s work ethic and determination will be hard to match. He worked hard for his teammates and always tried to get everyone around him better, not only for himself but for his team.”

Josh Johnson - Sprint Football - University of Pennsylvania
Josh is a 4 year letterman for the Warrior football team. He is signing today to play sprint football at the University of Pennsylvania and attend the Wharton School of Business. Coach Hull said, “Captain Josh Johnson will be greatly missed. He will graduate as one of the great warrior football players. His love for the game from tackle football, to 7on7, to flag football are one of the rare things coaches see in players. His leadership on and off of the field will be missed.”

Dane LaMaster - Baseball - Wharton Community College
Dane is a 2 year letterman for the Warrior baseball team. He is signing today to play baseball at Wharton Community College. Coach Cleveland said, “Dane is a hard working pitcher that has earned this opportunity to compete at the next level. We are proud of him and look forward to keeping up with his success in the future.

Tommy Mathay - Baseball - Wharton Community College
Tommy is a 1 year letterman for the Warrior baseball team. He is signing today to play baseball at Wharton Community College. Coach Cleveland said, “Tommy is a hard nosed competitor. In just one year at TWCA he has brought a toughness that we have needed. This competitive toughness has earned him this opportunity at Wharton.”

Diallo McMorris - Football - Southwestern University
Diallo is a 1 year letterman for the Warrior football team. He is signing today to play football at Southwestern University. Coach Hull said, “Diallo made a great impression on the program in his lone season as a warrior. His speed and abilities as a receiver and as a returner will be greatly missed.”

JW Painter - Sprint Football - U.S. Military Academy at West Point
JW is a 1 year letterman for the Warrior football team. He is signing today to play sprint football at United State Military Academy West Point. Coach Hull said, “JW has been a model student-athlete upon coming on campus. The coaching staff is proud of JW on his accomplishments. He leaves holding the school record for a 51 yard field goal.”

Xander Reed - Football - Southwestern University
Xander is a 1 year letterman for the Warrior football team. He is signing today to play football at Southwestern University. Coach Hull said, “Xander brought a level of confidence to his position every day. He gave opposing teams something to think about every game. We will miss Xander this next season.”

Jacob Rios - Sprint Football - University of Pennsylvania
Jacob is a 4 year letterman for the Warrior football team. He is signing today to play sprint football at the University of Pennsylvania. Coach Hull said, “Captain Jacob Rios was a great portion of our success this year. He helped guide his teammates through adversity. His appreciation for the game and his style of leadership will be missed.”

Mia Torres - Dance - LSU
Mia is an accomplished competitive dancer who, in addition to many National Championship Titles, has earned 2 World Championship Gold Medals. Mia is signing today with the legendary LSU Tiger Girls dance team. As a Tiger Girl, she will be dancing on the sidelines for football games in Death Valley and performing on basketball game days. Tiger Girls are one of the top D1 Collegiate Dance Teams in the Nation, holding many National Titles, as recently as 2022.

Jack Van Til - Sprint Football - U.S. Military Academy at West Point
Jack is a 4 year letterman for the Warrior football team. He is signing today to play play sprint football at the United State Military Academy West Point. Coach Hull said, “Jack was a leader for us up front. He set the tone every game with his grit and determination. Jack will be greatly missed not only on the field but off as well.

Tori Wiesner - Equestrian - William Woods University
Tori has been a member of the Woodlands Christian community since elementary school. Four years ago, Tori’s mother – who was a barrel racer growing up – sparked Tori’s love for horses and riding. Since then Tori has progressed greatly in her field and has won several championships, including the 2021 state championship in the Modified Children’s discipline. Tori is signing today to be a part of the equestrian program at William Woods University.
