Precinct 3 road project updates

THE WOODLANDS, TX - Precinct 3 is working with contractor Teamwork on several intersection improvements. Commissioner James Noack has issued a list of road work, including:

Woodlands Parkway at Gosling Road

Crews completed the extension of the two left-turn lanes on westbound Woodlands Parkway turning onto southbound Gosling Road.

In addition, crews just completed the extension of the two left-turn lanes on southbound Gosling Road turning onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway. This included permanently closing and filling in the crossover coming out of the Panther Creek Village Center on the far southwest corner. The driveway now is a right-in/right-out only.

These extensions add turn-lane storage, helping alleviate traffic congestion at the intersection as well as for through traffic along the two thoroughfares.

Woodlands Parkway at Kuykendahl Road

Crews have started clearing the median on southbound Kuykendahl Road in order to add a second left-turn lane and extend the turn-lane storage for vehicles turning onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway. This project necessitates the permanent closure of the crossover coming out of the Sterling Ridge Village Center at the southeast corner. The driveway now will be a right-in/right-out only.

Hanna Bridge Repair

Pavement repair/replacement on the bridge along Hanna Road north of Rayford Road is almost complete. Concrete was poured Friday, with curb and striping expected to be finished early this week and the bridge reopening to through traffic.

Birnham Woods Drive-Lexington Boulevard Signalization

Crews have started work at the intersection of Birnham Woods Drive and Lexington Boulevard, preparing to install traffic poles and mast arms for a signalized intersection. Crews currently are working on the underground equipment and foundations for the signal poles.

All equipment is expected to arrive in July with completion targeted for early to mid-August.

Pavement Repairs

Precinct 3 has been working with contractor Rebel on concrete repairs along northbound Grogan’s Mill Road between Sawdust Road and Woodlands Parkway. Drivers should anticipate alternating lane closures during the repairs. The Rebel crew's recent focus has been at the intersection of Sawdust Road and Grogan's Mill Road.

Once repairs are completed along Grogan’s Mill Road, work will start on repairs along Woodlands Parkway as well as other roads.
