THE WOODLANDS, TX – We hope that you enjoyed the jacket weather of last week, because this week we’re back to high temperatures in the 100s and daily heat advisories, with ample humidity tagging along to add about 10 degrees to the natural high temp each day. To add insult to injury, if anything drops from the sky, odds are it’s more likely to be a dehydrated bird than a raindrop.

Ain’t gonna lie… it’s gonna be a hot one.

Between pre-lunchtime and mid-afternoon, the temps will soar through the 90s and into the 100s, with only slight breezes to mitigate the mostly sunny skies. Some scattered clouds and maybe even a brief spike of mild precipitation might hit at some point, but neither enough to do much good. We’ll be back into the 80s at around ten o’clock this evening, but the overnight low in the upper 70s won’t hit until tomorrow morning right when you’re waking up.

Tuesday we might get some more cloud coverage but otherwise it will be a carbon copy of Monday. Ditto Wednesday, except that everything should end up about a degree cooler than the day before and we might get some accompanying afternoon winds up to 10 mph. But if you are on a ‘nights free’ electrical plan, thank your lucky stars, which you’ll be able to see through the clear nighttime skies, because even overnight indoors will be muggy.

On Thursday, the trend of dropping a degree will continue, with the occasional scattered cloud helping to block the sun for a few minutes at a time, and another uptick in the winds. Once again, it won’t even break out of the 90s to something cooler in the 80s until late, late at night, so plan accordingly.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Friday will end the week pretty much as it started; sunny skies with a high of 103 but a heat index of 110, with moderate winds out of the south and very little cloud coverage to provide shade.

Alas, it looks like this heat wave will continue well into next week, so don’t unpack the parkas yet…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
