Precinct 3 keeps paving the way with road repairs and upgrades

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack’s Office and contractor Teamwork recently completed widening of the intersection at Nursery Road and Oak Ridge Drive. The project expands and improves the turn radius in every direction for vehicles, while also improving underground drainage.

This is one of a handful of intersection improvement projects completed over the summer by Precinct 3 Commissioner Noack’s Office to help improve mobility and safety on county roads.

Intersection improvement projects completed during this summer:

  • Northbound Kuykendahl Road turning onto westbound Bay Branch Drive: Extended the left-turn lane; added flashing yellow arrow

  • Westbound Woodlands Parkway turning onto southbound Kuykendahl Road: Extended the double left-turn lanes

  • Southbound Kuykendahl Road turning onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway: Added second left-turn lane and extended the turn-lane storage

  • Westbound Woodlands Parkway turning onto southbound Gosling Road: Extended double left-turn lanes

  • Southbound Gosling Road turning onto eastbound Woodlands Parkway: Extended double left-turn lanes

  • Birnham Woods Drive at Lexington Boulevard: Signalized the intersection

Upcoming intersection improvement projects:

  • Northbound Grogan’s Mill Road turning onto North Millbend: Extend left-turn lane

  • Eastbound Research Forest Drive turning onto southbound Grogan’s Mill Road: Extend right-turn lane

  • Southbound Grogan’s Mill Road off of eastbound Woodlands Parkway exit: Extend merge lane along southbound Grogan’s Mill Road

Upcoming/ongoing asphalt pavement repairs:

  • Ag Road off of Pruitt Road: Mill, overlay, repair base

  • Sweet Gum Road: Mill, overlay and base repair in sections

  • Red Bay Circle: Mill, overlay and base repair in sections

  • Prine Lane: Mill, overlay, repair base

  • Woodlands Parkway (eastbound and westbound sides near I-45): Mill, overlay and base repair in sections

Bridge/drainage repairs:

  • Precinct 3 right-of-way crews recently repaired a joint on the bridge at Sawdust Road/Grogan’s Mill Road

  • Precinct 3 right-of-way crews recently repaired water drainage pipe and erosion along Shadowbend Drive, south of Research Forest Drive

  • Precinct 3 right-of-way crews recently repaired clogged drainage along eastbound Woodlands Parkway approaching the bridge at Lake Woodlands

In 2023, Precinct 3 right-of-way crews have responded to 264 ROW maintenance, 253 drainage, 116 curb repair and 86 pothole repair work orders, totaling 719 of the 3,437 work orders received through the first eight months of the year.
