THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Rep. Steve Toth (R-The Woodlands) and Montgomery County Clerk Brandon Steinmann (R-Conroe) named additions to their staff. Rep. Toth's former chief of staff, Trent Williams, will join the County Clerk's Office to fill the recently vacated chief deputy position. Thomas Mardik will be joining Steve Toth's team as his legislative chief of staff.

"Brandon is making significant updates to the County Clerk's Office in order to provide a higher level of customer service," said Representative Steve Toth. "I can't think of anyone better to execute the County Clerk's goals than Trent Williams. Going into the 2023 Regular Legislative Session, Trent let me know that he was interested in spending more time in Montgomery County instead of dividing his time between Austin and his family in Conroe. His commitment to stay on our team through the legislative sessions has been fulfilled and we wish him well in his new endeavor."

Thomas Mardik, Representative Toth's incoming Legislative Chief of Staff brings with him experience gained from serving former Congressman Kevin Brady (R-The Woodlands). Thomas served Kevin Brady first on his campaign and then progressed to Deputy District Director for Texas' 8th Congressional District. Cassandra Crowe will move from her current position as Special Projects Coordinator to District Chief of Staff for Rep. Toth. Both Mardik and Crowe will work out of the District 15 Office located near Oak Ridge North until the start of the 2025 Legislative Session.

"Representative Toth's office is known for excellent constituency work," said County Clerk Brandon Steinmann. "Trent has built an exemplary reputation for the role he has played in the success of House District 15. I look forward to his contributions to the County Clerk's Office as we continue towards our goal of delivering a superior customer service, transparency, and modernization of the office while saving the taxpayers of Montgomery County money."

On his transition, Trent Williams said, "The Texas House has been in session eight of the previous 12 months. Needless to say, my wife and three daughters are thrilled to hear that I will no longer need to travel back and forth between Austin. Rep. Toth is a fantastic leader for House District 15. I'm honored to have observed him in action as he relentlessly served the people of District 15 during the recent legislative session by reviving HB 3928 from the brink of death to get it passed into law — where it now opens the door for dyslexic students to get the services they need to read and succeed. I'm excited for the opportunity to work with Brandon Steinmann, a servant leader Montgomery County is blessed to have at the helm of the County Clerk's Office. I look forward to joining forces with Brandon to continue providing results to our neighbors in Montgomery County.”
