THE WOODLANDS, TX – Assuming we make it through this afternoon and the sudden onrush of rain that it will bring, the weekend will end up being relatively benign and ripe for some indoor and outdoor activities throughout The Woodlands.

A final rush of rain this afternoon leads to a dry weekend

Enjoy your Friday lunch with relative ease, because by the rime the five o’clock whistle blows we’re going to be huddled under umbrellas again. While we’ll ‘only’ get about a third of an inch of rain, the winds will kick up and the temperature will drop from its high of 64 and into the 50s in short time, making things feel decidedly wintery. A great antidote can be found at Fielding’s Local Kitchen as they warm your gullet – and heart – with their Hot Chocolate Days. The chances of rain will go down – but not disappear completely – around midnight as the cloud cover will help keep the overnight low at about 52.

Saturday will dawn under a whole bunch of clouds again, but this time they’ll be more wispy white than stormy grey. The winds will kick up significantly over the first part of the day – breaking the 15 mph barrier – as the temperature struggles to get even five degrees warmer than the low. Believe it or not, you can still have some outdoor fun by hitting the annual Woodlands Township Arbor Day Tree Giveaway. By sundown we’ll be hitting the 40s with a chill factor to add in, and early Sunday morning we’ll even get down to 39; not freezing, but certainly not warm.

Fortunately, the clouds will have rolled away by the time the Sunday sun peeks over the horizon and the winds will have died down to near nothing. Under partly cloudy skies with a high of 61 and nary a chance of rain to speak of, it will be beautiful outdoor weather to get out and about. Serendipitously, it’s the last day to register your kiddos for the Challenge Recreational Soccer spring season. As the day progresses, we’ll see a much more precipitous drop in temperature from the 60s into the mid-30a.

As you prep for your work week on Monday, expect some warmer, drier weather… but are those thunder rumblings on the end-of-week horizon…?
