Meals on Wheels of Montgomery County welcomes new President & CEO Carrie Watkins

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Meals on Wheels today announced the appointment of Carrie Watkins as the organization’s new President & Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

“Watkins brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit management and a deep commitment to serving the community, promising to lead Meals on Wheels into a new era of growth and innovation,” said the organization in a statement.

Watkins joined as a member of the Meals on Wheels Board of Directors in 2015. In 2018, she made a full-time commitment to Meals on Wheels when she joined the Executive Team as Director of Community Development. Committed to her community prior to joining Meals on Wheels, Watkins is a past co-chair of In the Pink of Health benefiting Memorial Hermann Hospital The Woodlands.

During Watkins’ tenure, Meals on Wheels has experienced significant new corporate support from Montgomery County based businesses committed to our at-risk senior community. Under her leadership, Meals on Wheels aims to expand its reach, enhance its programs, and continue its mission of delivering nutritious meals and companionship to seniors and others in need.

Watkins lives in Montgomery and has twin sons, Lane and Lucas, who just graduated from Montgomery High School and will be attending Texas A&M in the fall.

“I am humbled and excited to lead Meals on Wheels and build on the strong foundation created by our dedicated leadership team,” said Watkins. “Together with our staff, volunteers, and community partners, we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that home-bound seniors in our community have access to the meals and transportation services they desperately need.”

Meals on Wheels also extends its gratitude to Summer Day for her dedicated service and leadership over the past 7 years. During her tenure, Day spearheaded numerous initiatives that added significant value to our community. We wish her well in her future endeavors.
