Staycationing this long weekend? Here are some activities around The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX – For any number of reasons, this long weekend might be one where you buck the trend and stay local with the family. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing; the National Safety Council predicts 443 traffic fatalities this weekend, and last year Texas led the count with 218.
Additionally, travel costs, lack of time, and other practical reasons may keep you around The Township through Monday. Instead of getting bummed out by staying homebound, consider some of the things The Woodlands has going on for this long weekend. Note that we haven’t gone into live music with this list; if you want to move to the grooves, check out our ‘Live Music in The Woodlands’ blog on our site here. And don’t forget to bone up on our ‘Top Things to Do in The Woodlands’ weekly report!
Friday
We here at Woodlands Online feel that firing ranges are great resources for stress relief and blowing off steam (as well as learning gun safety). Copendero Indoor Archery, Pistol, and Rifle Range has the perfect prescription with their Full Auto Friday. Check out any of their fully automatic weapons at no range rental cost. Their trained staff will talk and walk you through any questions you may have before blowing the stuffing out of your targets.

From Trouble to Sorry, from Monopoly to Risk, to the countless board games you may never have heard of, The Adventure Begins wants you to enjoy some retro fun with their ‘Bring Your Own Board Game Night.’ You can – as invited – bring your own game, or you can show up empty-handed and check out what others brought or what the staff has on the shelves. Great family fun!
