The Woodlands Township Earns TAMI Awards

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The 2025 Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) Awards drew 658 entries from cities and counties across the state, making it one of the most competitive years on record. Among those recognized, The Woodlands Township Communications Department brought home two awards during the annual conference, held June 4–6 in Fort Worth.
The Township received a first-place TAMI Award for The Woodlands Community Magazine in the category of Publications – External Newsletter or Magazine. The magazine’s 2024 redesign and commemorative issues were recognized for their strong visual presentation, community relevance and fully in-house design. One judge noted, “This was a very strong submission. The goals and objectives were clearly aligned with the content presented, which helped reinforce the purpose and impact of the publication. The magazine itself is beautifully produced — high-quality in both design and execution. I was genuinely impressed. Kudos to the entire team for such thoughtful and well-crafted work!”
Delivered bi-monthly to more than 44,000 households, The Woodlands Community Magazine remains the Township’s cornerstone of resident communication.
In addition, the Township earned a third-place Award of Excellence in the Special Event – One-Time Event category for its 50th Anniversary Celebration campaign. The recognition highlights a yearlong communications effort culminating in a grand public celebration and a series of commemorative projects, created in partnership with the Township’s Parks and Recreation Department and developer, Howard Hughes. Judges praised the campaign’s creativity, saying, “Clearly well-planned. I loved the commemorative book and ornaments—unique touches that will be remembered for years to come.”
“These awards reflect the strength of our communications efforts and the commitment of our staff,” said Township Chairman Brad Bailey. “The Woodlands Community Magazine continues to be our most important outreach tool, delivering trusted updates directly to residents’ homes. The Board remains committed to supporting high-quality communication that reflects the excellence of our community.”
The TAMI Awards recognize outstanding municipal communications in Texas, honoring creativity, impact and public engagement across a variety of categories.
