SPRING, TX -- Miyagi Ken International Academy, located at 22936 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring, TX, was recently awarded the Golden Gi Award by the USA National Karate Federation (USA-NKF) for their outstanding performance at the 2025 National Championships in Fort Worth, Texas.
Miyagi Ken International Academy earns the highest number of gold medals at the 2025 USA-NKF National Championships, cementing its role in developing the next generation of elite athletes.

The USA-NKF is the official governing body for karate in the United States, recognized by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee.

Founded in 2017, Miyagi Ken has become a stronghold of traditional Japanese karate, teaching the discipline as it is practiced in Japan today. Led by Shihan Luis Alberte and a team of young instructors—all former elite athletes—the dojo has grown into a true incubator for national-level talent.

The dojo also achieved first place in gold medal count at the 2025 USA Karate Open & Junior International Cup in Las Vegas, an international tournament that brought together athletes from over 40 countries.

Full competition results are available on the Tournament in the Box platform under the events:
