Conroe ISD Implements New Electronic Device Policy in Compliance with Texas House Bill 1481

CONROE, TX --

Beginning August 13, Conroe Independent School District will implement a new policy restricting the use of personal communication and electronic devices during the school day, in accordance with Texas House Bill 1481.

This new regulation prohibits students from using personal devices such as cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, and wired or wireless headphones (including AirPods) during instructional hours. The policy is designed to minimize distractions, promote academic engagement, and align with state legislation.

Conroe ISD is committed to creating a focused learning environment and appreciates the partnership of parents and guardians in reinforcing this new policy. Exceptions to the rule will be managed in accordance with individualized education programs (IEPs) or 504 plans, as applicable.
