St. Luke's Health-The Woodlands Hospital Dedicates Memorial Bench Honoring Beloved Nurse Alisa Henley-Sansom
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Earlier today, St. Luke's Health-The Woodlands Hospital held a poignant ceremony to dedicate a beautiful new memorial bench in honor of Alisa Henley-Sansom, RN, BSN, a cherished nurse who recently passed away.
The bench, a testament to her profound impact on the hospital community, will be placed in her favorite spot: overlooking the tranquil lake on the hospital grounds.
The creation and donation of the bench was a remarkable initiative led by Landon Mayhall, a dedicated Boy Scout with Troop 889, as part of his Eagle Scout project. St. Luke's Health-The Woodlands Hospital is deeply touched and honored that Landon chose to express his admiration for Alisa in such a meaningful and lasting way.
"We are incredibly moved by Landon's thoughtfulness and dedication in bringing this memorial to fruition," said Kristen Taylor, Chief Nursing Officer. "Alisa was an extraordinary nurse, colleague, and friend. This bench, situated in a place she loved, will serve as a constant reminder of her compassion and spirit."
Landon Mayhall worked closely with Alisa's husband, Steve, throughout the entire project. This collaboration ensured the bench not only met the rigorous standards of an Eagle Scout project but also truly reflected Steve's vision and honored Alisa's memory. Steve even provided supplies and invaluable guidance, further deepening the personal connection to the memorial.
"Working with Steve was an incredibly important part of this project," said Landon Mayhall. "It was an honor to create something that will bring comfort and reflection to everyone who knew and loved Alisa, and to those who simply need a moment of peace."
The memorial bench, nestled amidst nature, is intended to offer solace and a peaceful retreat for patients, staff, and visitors. The hospital hopes it will serve as a place of quiet contemplation, bringing peace and inspiration to others for years to come.
