Fatal Fire in Montgomery County Leaves Two Dead; Cause Under Investigation

MONTGOMERY, TX -- On August 22, 2025, at approximately 2:16 a.m., deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 20300 block of Birch Drive to assist the Montgomery Fire Department with a fully engulfed double-wide mobile home.
After the fire was extinguished, two deceased individuals were found among the remains of the mobile home. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office responded to the scene.
During the initial investigation, the Fire Marshal's Investigators noted injuries on the deceased individuals, prompting them to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit, along with Crime Scene Investigators, arrived at the scene to begin an investigation into the deaths of the two individuals. The Montgomery County Medical Examiner's Office also responded and will conduct autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death. Although the deaths are currently being investigated, there appears to be no threat to the public related to this case.
The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
