MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- As of this morning, the Pauline Road Fire is officially at 75% containment, with a total of 2,421 acres burned. No additional forward progression of the fire has been observed over the past 24 hours. We anticipate containment percentages to continue rising as the Texas A&M Forest Service strengthens containment lines and works to extinguish remaining hot spots.

Over the past 36 hours, no flare-ups or fire activity have been reported outside the established containment lines. A containment line now fully surrounds the fire, and crews—including dozer teams and strike teams—continue efforts to reinforce these lines and address any remaining areas of concern.

Weather conditions have improved for firefighting efforts, allowing crews to make significant progress. Residents in previously evacuated zones remain cleared to return to their homes and surrounding areas. At this time, there is no new threat to these areas.

Our office remains in close communication with the Forest Service Incident Commanders and continues to monitor the area with FLIR-enabled drones to ensure the safety of all residents, including those in neighboring San Jacinto County.

As a reminder, containment figures are provided by the Forest Service, and we will continue to update the public as new information becomes available. Residents may still see smoke or smoldering trees, stumps, and debris within the burned area, known as the “black.” Crews on the ground will continue working to address these hot spots as part of the mop-up operations.

We appreciate the continued cooperation of residents and the dedication of all responding personnel. Further updates will be provided as conditions change.
