Limited registration is still available for the 26th Annual YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge, presented by Repsol. The three-day event will be held at Northshore Park. Teams participate in a single four-hour bracket, 8 a.m. - noon or 2 - 6 p.m. Teams are encouraged to register as soon as possible to ensure you get your preferred bracket. The event features four different team activities, but the Dragon Boat races are the main event. Dragon boats are 40 feet long, extremely colorful and weigh over 1,800 pounds each! This exciting team-building event is designed to build community spirit among corporations, civic groups and community organizations. The activities are designed to bring individuals together to achieve a single goal – to have fun and build relationships!

As part of this year’s National Night Out events throughout The Woodlands, residents are invited to cheer on their favorite public safety personnel at the Boots vs. Badges softball game, this year at a new location: Alden Bridge Sports Park. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and The Woodlands Fire Department will face off in a spirited softball game to celebrate friendly rivalry and our community’s support for local public safety personnel. In addition, the event will feature The Woodlands Car Club Community Car Showcase with classic and custom cars. Awards will be distributed onsite for Police Choice, Firefighters’ Choice, Kid’s Choice and National Night Out Best of Show. A Kid Zone will be available, along with free hot dogs and hamburgers, while supplies last, sponsored by Kroger. Admission is free.
