THE WOODLANDS, TX — The Texas Game Wardens, serving all 254 counties statewide, hosted their annual awards ceremony on October 23, 2025, opened by Dr. David Yoskowitz, Executive Director of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Dr. Yoskowitz began the event with a fitting reflection from President Calvin Coolidge: “No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.”

Recognized as the 2025 Texas Game Warden Prosecutor of the Year, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office was honored for its strong partnership with Texas Game Wardens and its leadership in the Ghost Deer Investigation, which produced 62 convictions statewide.

District Attorney Brett Ligon praised the recognition as a reflection of teamwork between prosecutors and law enforcement agencies across Texas.

“For us, this award isn’t just a milestone — it’s a reminder of the responsibility we carry,” said District Attorney Brett Ligon. “Working with Texas Parks and Wildlife means safeguarding a legacy that defines who we are as Texans.”
