Caregiver’s courage leads to life sentence for child predator

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On September 25, 2025, a Montgomery County jury convicted 36-year-old Saul Adonay Jimenez-Herrera of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. The following day, Judge John Hafley, sitting for the 435th District Court, sentenced JimenezHerrera to life in prison.
In January 2024, a caregiver entered a dark bedroom and turned on the light, discovering Jimenez-Herrera leaning over the face of a 10-year-old child while reaching for a 5-year-old. The caregiver saw him attempting to pull up his shorts, exposing himself near the child, and immediately called 911. Responding deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office quickly located Jimenez-Herrera walking away from the scene.
Chief Prosecutor Brittney Aaron and Assistant District Attorney Lianne Baldridge of the Special Victims Division prosecuted the case.
Further investigation revealed that Jimenez-Herrera had been sexually abusing both children for approximately six months before being caught. The courageous actions of the caregiver, the bravery of the young victims, and the diligent work of investigators ensured that the full scope of his crimes came to light.
After carefully weighing the evidence, the jury delivered a guilty verdict that resulted in a life sentence, ensuring Jimenez-Herrera will never again have the opportunity to harm another child.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office extends its gratitude to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for their thorough investigation and to Children’s Safe Harbor for their continued partnership in supporting child victims of abuse. This case highlights the strong collaboration between law enforcement, advocacy organizations, and prosecutors in protecting the most vulnerable members of our community and delivering justice.
Assistant District Attorney Lianne Baldridge said, “After enduring months of unimaginable abuse, these children now have justice and the assurance that this defendant will never again be able to harm them. This verdict provides closure and sends a clear message that we will protect the most vulnerable in our community.”
District Attorney Brett Ligon said, “This case is a stark reminder that evil exists, but so does justice. Saul Jimenez-Herrera targeted innocent children, and now he will spend the rest of his life in prison. In Montgomery County, predators who abuse children will find no mercy and no escape from accountability.”
