Lone Star College Foundation leader ‘blazes’ the trail for others

HOUSTON, TX -- For Nicole Robinson Gauthier, CFRE, Lone Star College System associate vice chancellor, Foundation Advancement, community service is not just a phrase, it’s a way of life. Robinson Gauthier’s extensive career with non-profit organizations has helped countless people achieve their dreams.

“Working with incredible organizations that help people live better lives has been a true gift; one that I plan to be part of for many years to come,” she said.

The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce presented Robinson Gauthier and 14 other leaders with the Montgomery County/North Houston Trailblazer Award at the Montgomery County/North Houston Summit for Women held Oct. 30 at LSC-System Office, The Woodlands.

"I’m truly honored to be recognized as a trailblazer, especially among so many amazing women who inspire me every day,” said Robinson Gauthier. “This recognition reminds me why I do this work, to help open doors for others and create opportunities that make a lasting difference in people’s lives."

Robinson Gauthier is not the college system’s only trailblazer recipient. Kay Fitzsimons, LSCS executive director, Leadership and Economic Development, earned the recognition in 2024. She nominated Robinson Gauthier because of her leadership, vision and commitment to service.

“Nicole’s recognition as a trailblazer is a proud moment for Lone Star College System, and her impact will continue to inspire future generations of women leaders,” said Fitzsimons. “Her innovative leadership and deep sense of purpose have transformed how we engage with donors, support students and strengthen our community.”

The Montgomery County/North Houston Trailblazer Award celebrates individuals who are making tremendous contributions in their industries, demonstrating leadership in their careers and community. Their selfless commitment to bettering others builds a better foundation for and opens the door to the next generation of female leaders.

“The Montgomery County/North Houston Trailblazer Award stands as shining examples of what it means to lead with purpose and passion,” said Suzan Deison, Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce president/CEO/founder. “Each honoree reflects the chamber’s vision of fostering growth, equity and opportunity throughout our city.”

Robinson Gauthier joined LSCS in 2016 as the LSC Foundation executive director. Under her leadership, the foundation has created endowment policies that ensure long-term sustainability, doubled its assets and implemented a robust disaster and emergency student aid program. Previously, she worked with United Way’s Women’s Leadership program and is the past president of the Texas Association of Community College Foundations, past president of National Charity League - The Magnolias Chapter, and a 2024 ATHENA Leadership Award recipient.
