THE WOODLANDS, TX – You’ve carved the turkey, stuffed yourself, and awakened from the tryptophan coma… or maybe you’re merely taking advantage of having the day off. In either event, you might find yourself needing to get out of the house on Thanksgiving. Luckily, Woodlands Online has some events you can check out this Thursday!

36th Annual YMCA Run Thru the Woods

Running for cause since 1989, the annual charity event YMCA Run Thru the Woods starts bright and early at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands Town Center. Designed for everyone to participate, categories and start times include a competitive one-mile Children’s Race for ages 12 and younger starting at 7:30 a.m.; a five-mile race at 8:15 a.m.; and a three-mile race and three-mile walk starting at 8:25 a.m. Wear your favorite Thanksgiving costume. Strollers are welcomed but please leave your pets at home. This year, the charity event expects to attract more than 5,000+ participants from around the country. Awards will be given to the top finishers in 1 mile, 3 mile, 5 mile, and Team Challenge runs. All participants will receive a goodie bag, t-shirt and finisher medal. Post race activities include complimentary refreshments, kids activities and more.
