THE WOODLANDS, TX – The San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) is a state-created government agency responsible for developing, conserving, and protecting the water resources of the San Jacinto River basin in Southeast Texas.

The authority has different divisions to serve specific needs, such as the Lake Conroe Division for reservoir operations and water supply, and the Woodlands Division for wholesale water supply and wastewater treatment to The Woodlands

Between rivers, lakes, dams, maintenance, repair, studies, construction, and more, it can be nigh impossible to keep up with the various projects underway throughout the service area at any given time. Fortunately, the authority has a user-friendly Project Viewer available online that shows active and future construction projects, repairs, and studies for projects in flood management, GRP, Bear Branch, Highlands, Lake Conroe, and The Woodlands.

The viewer can be found at https://www.sjra.net/about/projects/.

Established in 1937, the SJRA manages the entire river watershed (excluding Harris County) and operates a variety of projects, including managing Lake Conroe, providing surface water for municipal and industrial use, and offering wastewater treatment services.
