Days 1 and 2: 2026 Woodlands Wine & Food Week: The Appetizer and Apertif
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The first two days of the 22nd annual Woodlands Wine & Food Week for 2026 has been a wonderful precursor to what the rest of the week which holds with Friday’s Sips, Suds & Savor event, and the Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase on Saturday, where the areas best of the best chefs battle it out for a Grand Prize numbered in the thousands. So far, attendees have traveled The World on Wednesday with ‘Going Places Goes Global,’ with wines and food that exhibited an international flavor. Thursday offered ‘Crushing It With Cocktails,’ which featured many wonderful concoctions, and restaurant samples that blew one’s mind. Food & Vine Time Productions’ Constance McDerby knows how to throw a party, and if the first two nights at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention are any indication of the potential for Friday and Saturday night, the anticipation will be killing you.
There is so much to see, do, hear, taste, and savor, at these special events that you won’t be left thirsty or hungry, and if you are not at a wine seminar, turn your head, and you’d see wonderful models at a fashion show. There was even a history lesson learning of wine that has DNA dating back over six thousand years, and entertained great historical figures from ancient Greece like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. And right alongside the wine vendors there were the wonderful restaurants that brought joy to the stomachs of those that attended, and curbed the effects of the alcohol, to make the night as enjoyable as possible.
The Crushing It With Cocktail event on Thursday evening was filled with tons of mixed drinks and mini-shots of tequilas and other samples that make for essential ingredients in the cocktails themselves. The restaurants and bars were well represented with delicious ceviches, cakes, pizzas from HEB, shrimp dishes from Aruba and other places. If you alternated with food and drink, you held your own, and truly enjoyed yourself.
The company of course was tops amongst the discerning guests, and everyone was easy to chat up, and make instant friends. The restaurateurs and bartenders were very personable, and anxious to tell of the cocktails or foods with a lot of enthusiasm. It’s a great reason why the Woodlands Food and Wine Week brings great talent from all around, to come and sip and taste their new and innovative creations that please palates throughout the week.
The week culminates with Sips, Suds & Savor and the grand dame—the elaborate Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Ballroom where acclaimed chefs compete for the coveted Chef of Chefs Award and a $5,000 cash prize. Looking for that extra touch of VIP, be sure to get tickets early to the Bayway Cadillac VIP Luxury Lounge with ultra-premium wines but limited space. Wine & Food Week is truly foodie heaven.
